THE ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL DINNER AND THE "HANGING OF THE GREENS"

Will be held on Sunday, November 23. Immediately after the worship service, we

will have the annual congregational dinner and then promptly following the dinner

the volunteers will decorate the church. Please bring a hot or cold covered dish,

salad or dessert to share at the dinner. The church will provide fruit cup, ham,

rolls and beverages. Please sign the sheet in the narthex.

 

             BIBLE STUDY AT ST. JAMES WITH PASTOR MARK JESKE will be held at 1:00 p.m. on              Tuesday, November 5 (Session 5) and Tuesday, November 19 (Session 6). “Opening              the Book of Faith, Lutheran Insights for Bible Study” will be the reference guide.

 

THE COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE sponsored by the churches of the Hellam Ministerium and the Wrightsville Ministerium will be held on Tuesday, November 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church, 404 Hellam Street, Wrightsville. Please bring a nonperish­able item for the Eastern York Food Pantry.

 

LOUISE CRUMLING IS TAKING ORDERS FOR RED POINSETTIAS, 4 to 6 blooms, which cost $7.50 each. Please return an order form to Louise by November 23. Forms are in the narthex.

 

AN ANGEL TREE has been placed in the reference room. Members are

invited to take an angel off the tree and return the designated gift

in an unwrapped box to the tree by Sunday, December 7. The gifts

are given to the residents at Pleasant Acres. When you take an

angel off the tree, please replace it with a candy cane that is in a

basket adjacent to the tree. If you do not wish to bring an item,

you can be a part of this holiday effort by making monetary

contributions to purchase items that meet the residents' needs.

If you want to make a cash contribution, please put it in an envelope

and mark it "Pleasant Acres" along with your name or envelope number

if you want your contribution recorded on your financial statement.

If you contribute by check, please make the check pay­able to St. James and St. James will send one check with all con­tributions to Pleasant Acres.

 

The Christmas Eve Service will be at 7:00 p.m. at St. James and will be a Service of Christmas Carols, Holy Communion, and Candlelighting. We hope you and your family will attend this meaningful service.

 

THE CONGREGATION COUNCIL will meet on Tuesday, November 18 and Tuesday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the social room.

 

CHOIR PRACTICE for the upcoming holidays will be held on Thursdays in November and December at 7:30 p.m. at the Griffiths home. All those who would like to sing are welcome.
