SCOUT SUNDAY will be observed on February 5. The Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of Troop 49 and their leaders and parents will join the members of St. James for worship at 10:30 a.m. Scouts will serve as greeters and ushers.

 

THE FLOWER CHART FOR 2012 is in the narthex. The minimum price for altar flowers is $22.00. However, a special arrangement can be or­dered for an additional cost.

 

MANY THANKS TO BRADLEY ILGENFRITZ, son-in-law of Bob and Donna Long, for paying for our St. James web-site (www.stjameshellam.com) and entering information on it on a regular basis.

 

a call went out for ST. JAMES folks to help with a Community Meal -- hospitality offered to our neighbors who might need a free meal or just someone friendly with whom to share a meal. On December 11 Pastor Volker and eight folks from St. James provided a great meal and shared a wonderful dinner with six neighbors. Thanks to Pastor Volker, Terry, Jim, Cathy, Erika, Barry, Genny, Cindy and especially Yvonne, for suggesting the meal in the first place. (Thanks also to Bob Long for having ready handouts with all the information about our Sunday services.)

 

THE EASTERN YORK FOOD PANTRY continues to serve the needs of those in the Eastern York School District area. St. James has been assigned canned fruit, canned vegetables and canned tuna.

 

THE CONGREGATION COUNCIL will meet on Tuesday, January 17 and Tuesday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the social room.

 

THE LUTHERAN CHURCH WOMEN will meet on Tuesday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the social room.
